Gracie Morton was born in1956 on the Utopia Station. Her language group is Alyawarre. As with other women artists from the Utopia region she began her painting career in the 1980's working with batik, then commenced painting with acrylics on canvas. She often paints the bush plum or bush seed dreaming.
In this painting Gracie depict her Dreaming of "Bush Seeds”. In the dreamtime winds blew from all directions, carrying the bush seed across the ancestral lands.
This is represented in her paintings through complex fine dot patterns to depict the contours and colors of the land and the walking tracks used by women to collect the bush seeds.
